The Government Radio Network [GRN] provides the voice, mobile data and alert/paging communications services needed to support the mission and business critical operations of all six SA Government emergency service agencies and 15 other agencies.   

The contract to operate and maintain the GRN expires on 23 May 2009.   A Request for Proposal [RFP] for the follow-on contract(s) to provide these services will be released to the market in the near future.   The RFP will seek responses from industry in relation to:

• The Operations & Maintenance [O&M] of the Transmission, Voice and Mobile Data Sub-networks.
• The O&M of the Alert/Paging sub-network.
• The Facilities Management of the GRN Sites.

An industry briefing will be held on 12 June 2008 to provide potential respondents with information relating to the RFP and the State's approach for the continued provision of the GRN services after 23 May 2009.
