The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters will be undertaking an upgrade of the shared path along the River Torrens Linear Park in 2018, between Felixstow Reserve (east) and the intersection of Battams Road / Ninth Avenue (west). The project will improve the safety, accessibility and capacity of the pathway for people of all ages and abilities, as well as the path alignment and sight lines approaching and passing under many of the road and O’bahn crossings along the river.

The construction of the Shared Path and associated works will integrate into the existing Linear Park setting, and include:

• Demolition of existing pathways, including surplus / redundant pathways
• Erosion control
• Relocation of various park furniture and other existing elements
• Temporary diversions and/or path connections
• New shared asphalt pathway, including signage and line-marking
• Exposed aggregate concrete pavement
• Concrete retaining walls (greater than 500mm height)
• Low stone retaining walls (less than 500mm height)
• 150mm high barrier kerb
• New full and partial balustrades
• New path lighting and associated electrical services infrastructure
• New stormwater infrastructure
• Tree, shrub and groundcover planting
• Topsoil and hydroseeding to batters and other disturbed areas
• 12 months landscape maintenance (including hand watering where required).
