The South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI) Entomology Team is seeking a supplier to conduct the siteworks for the installation a custom-built mobile facility for sterile insect production on Kangaroo Island (KI). This mobile facility, an assembly of prefabricated modular units (or modified shipping containers), will be used to produce X-ray irradiated sterile sheep blowfly (Lucilia cuprina) that will be released during the facility’s operations between 2022-2026 to eradicate this fly and associated sheep fly-strike from KI.

The site for the works is located on Kangaroo Island, at 217 North Coast Road, Kingscote and extends the area of the existing hardstand (as it was previously used for grain storage). Access to the site is from Ten Trees Lagoon Road, off North Coast Road.
