Description
AGD is seeking a service provider to provide trauma responsive counselling to victims of crime. There will be no cost to victims who access the service.
The service will provide counselling over a capped number of sessions, the model for which will be proposed by Respondents as part of this Open Invitation to Supply process.
Respondents should draw upon their expertise in trauma informed counselling methodology to devise their capped counselling model, taking into account the average number of sessions per client will be approximately six, and also looking at the capped counselling models that have been established interstate.
The capped counselling model proposed by Respondents should include a tiered approach depending on the type of crime (ie violent or non-violent), and a staged approach where additional sessions are made available in circumstances where there is a special need. It should also allow for counselling to be available to victims at various points throughout the criminal justice process.
If a client requires counselling beyond the capped number of sessions, the service provider will make warm referrals to other appropriate providers.
Counselling services will be available state-wide. The manner in which the state‑wide reach is achieved is at the discretion of the service provider. Services should be available face to face, by telephone and online. Interpreting services should be used where required.
The successful respondent will be awarded a two year contract to deliver the counselling service from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2022, with an option to extend to 30 June 2023.
