The Barossa Rugby Precinct Upgrade is part of Council's The Big Project. The greenfields site adjacent the Barossa Aquatic and Fitness Centre, Tanunda Primary School and Faith Lutheran College in Tanunda will house the purpose built facility and see the Barossa Rams Rugby Club move to Tanunda from their current home base in Lyndoch.

The site will see the development of a rugby facility to meet contemporary standards (RugbySA standard for amateur rugby and associated touch football) and provide high quality, inclusive and accessible infrastructure that will grow participation in rugby and encourage broad community use of multi-use facilities for associated activities such as touch football and extended primary and secondary school sporting activities. The development inlcudes:

- 1 x rugby pitch including 3 x touch football pitches

- 4 x LED lights providing 100 lux

- pitch irrigation and drainage

- carpark development including street lighting

- internal roadway

Concurrently, a second tender and package of works will be released for:

- unisex, multi-use changerooms

- clubroom with seating for 150ppl and associated kitchen, bar and washroom amenities

A requirement of the tender is to demonstrate how the successful tenderer will proactive work alongside and communicate with both the principal and the building works contractor (to be tendered)
