Description
The 12 River Murray Ferries owned by the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport are currently operated under contract by services providers, with all contracts ending on 31 October 2024. Ferry services are provided by the State Government free of charge to the community. There is an ongoing need for the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (the Department) to engage capable service provider(s) to deliver safe and reliable ferry crossing services across the 11 river crossings after the existing arrangement end. River Murray Ferry services are provided to the community on 24 hours a day / 7 days a week (24/7). The services account for the transport of approximately 1.6 million vehicles across the river annually.
