In relation to RFID in libraries, the scope of this tender is for the successful supplier to:

• Provide a separate quote for the purchase of the required RFID tags;
• Provide a separate quote for our libraries to purchase their own batches of RFID tags for new items coming into libraries on an ongoing basis;
• Provide a separate quote for our libraries to purchase their own RFID encoding pad and associated software and support to enable them to continue to tag their new items coming into their libraries before they have a chance to buy all of their own RFID self-check solution;
• Provide a separate quote for supplementary services of labour to encode RFID tags and apply these to library items (in case a library wants to outsource this work);
• Provide a separate quote for the loan and transport of Retrospective Conversion Equipment to be used to encode and tag their collection initially;
• Provide a suggested Implementation Plan;
• Provide training material for the South Australian public libraries for how to encode their tags to the PLS required standard. This could include videos, screen captures, or printed material.

This tender WILL NOT:

• Procure circulating or security RFID equipment - this is the responsibility of the library and will be done on their own timeline;
• Procure anything for libraries who have already conducted their own RFID implementation project;
• Encode and apply the RFID tags to library items for a library – unless a library pays extra for this themselves.
