Description
The Adelaide Festival Centre was Australia’s first multi-purpose arts centre, built between 1970 - 1973 and is one of Australia’s most active theatrical producers, presenting a wide range of arts activities and performances for the local community as well as interstate and international visitors. As part of the larger Adelaide Festival Centre Precinct Project, $11.122 million has been granted to Arts South Australia for the procurement of technical equipment at The Adelaide Festival Theatre (Festival Theatre), the Dunstan Playhouse (the Playhouse) and the Space Theatre (the Space).
In recent years, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has severely restricted the availability of usable frequencies for radio microphone technologies. This is due to digital TV and the Australian Government’s sale of sections of the radio frequency spectrum to telecommunications companies. Subsequently this has rendered many parts of the Adelaide Festival Centres’ radio microphones and IEM inventory illegal to use.
