The 2016-2017 State Budget announced on 7th July 2016 that a $250m initiative to deliver contemporary STEM facililites to 139 public schools in South Australia. The program includes.
- 77 Primary Schools at $1m

This is considered a stimulus package and the timeframes for delivery are compressed to meet the targets set by the South Australian Government.
At present DPTI has asked Lead Professional Contractors (LPSC) Architect/Engineers for a fee proposal to engage in a Planning Study to further identify the scope of the projects. It is initally proposed that design teams will work with individual sites to develop the scope of work, identify preferred buildings to refurbish and prepare indicative estimates of cost. Procurement options for the construction phase are currently being finalised and further information and/or briefing sessions will be provided to you during August 2016.
DPTI prequalified builders (Category 2-4) will be invited to tender based on either the Planning Study or Design and Developed Documents on each site identified. The successful tenderer will then be allocated works to be delivered within set timeframes. Tenderers must comply with current prequalification criteria and DPTI reserves the right to undertake financial checks prior to any award of a contract.
