Description
Interested parties are invited to submit a proposal to the South Australian Government Financing Authority (SAFA) for the Driver Training and Education Services Request for Proposal (RFP).
The intent of Driver Training and Education Services is to positively influence the behaviour and attitudes of government vehicle drivers by making a training and education program available.
The Government of South Australia’s passenger and light commercial motor vehicle fleet is owned and managed by SAFA.
The Fleet Division of SAFA is responsible for:
- Procurement, contract management and performance monitoring;
- Accident management (repairs and claims);
- Short-term hire pool; and
- Management and updating of government fleet policies.
As at 30 June 2016 SAFA had 7,215 vehicles made up of a combination of passenger, SUV and light commercial vehicles, including 4WD and trucks. In addition, some agencies own a number of specialist vehicles together with other ancillary equipment such as trailers and caravans. Respondents to this RFP should note that vehicle numbers are provided for indicative purposes only.
The Government of South Australia supports improved government fleet safety initiatives and actively supports the ‘South Australian Government Safe Driving Policy’ to assist compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA) and the Work Health and Safety Regulations 2012 (SA).
SAFA is an active participant in the shared responsibility of “Towards Zero Together” South Australia's Road Safety Strategy 2020.
