DEWNR operates 13 River Vessel Waste Disposal Stations (RVWDS) along the length of the River Murray. These stations provide a sewage and waste (domestic rubbish) disposal service to operators of houseboats and other recreational vessels on the river.
The day to day management of the RVWDS is the responsibility of the Contract Manager, based at Berri. The operations and maintenance activities of the stations are undertaken through two separate contracts:

• A ‘Mechanical and Electrical’ services contract, for the undertaking of (skilled) preventative maintenance and breakdown/repair maintenance. This contract is presently awarded to SA Water.
• One or more ‘Local Operator’ contracts, for the undertaking of general (unskilled) housekeeping, waste removal, monitoring pump hours and initial troubleshooting in the event of service difficulty.

This Request for Tender is for the “Local Operator’s Contracts” as stated above.
