Alexandrina Council covers an area of 182 684 hectares. Council has a responsibility to ensure the verge areas are suitably maintained, in particular during the fire danger season to reduce the risk of fire to the community. There is approximately 750km of sealed roads and 760kms of unsealed roads. It is expected that the areas to be serviced within this tender equate to approximately 400km of sealed and unsealed roads along with 2 Council owned parcels of land situated at Lot 10 Langhorne Creek Road, Strathalbyn (approx. 60 acres) and Lot 12 Boettcher Road, Goolwa (approx. 50 acres).

The aim is to provide all road users of the Alexandrina Council road network a safe passage. The objective of this contract is to control and maintain roadside vegetation along our road network to reduce bushfire risk and ensure safe passage.

This will be an exclusive contract to deliver the services. The term of the contract will be 1 year with two (2) one year extension option/s available at the sole discretion of the Alexandrina Council.
