The Government of South Australia has funding until 30 June 2021 to implement the GigCity Adelaide Program. The Program aims to provide businesses in designated innovation precincts with access to affordable high-speed broadband services of up to 1 Gigabit per second. 14 innovation precincts in metropolitan Adelaide have already been connected to the GigCity network, with a further 14 precincts expected to be connected in 2018 and 2019.

As part of existing budget commitments, the Government has allocated up to $1 million to extend the GigCity Adelaide Program to businesses in Whyalla and Mount Gambier.

Therefore, the Department for Industry and Skills is seeking detailed information about potential solutions that will deliver affordable ultra-high speed internet connectivity to businesses in Whyalla and Mount Gambier within a fixed budget.
