Description

The Board through Public Library Services (PLS) is seeking proposals from suitably experienced companies that are able to supply library materials (book and non-print) and provide these through physical or digital methods including a specific category for Community Languages. This Invitation To Supply (ITS) will include the requirements for cataloguing services, profiling and technical requirements for South Australia’s public library network.

The intent of the Board is to establish a panel of respondents across the 3 categories of Physical, Digital and Community Languages.

The new panel that will result from this ITS will replace the existing panel that has been in place since 2008.

Respondents will be able to respond to the provision of content services in any or all of the 3 categories.

The objectives of this procurement are to:

  • Provide the stable and reliable provision of new content services across physical and digital mediums (including catering for community languages) through the public libraries;

  • Provide catalogue services to assist in the identification and selection and discovery of new materials to the public libraries;

  • The provision of consistent electronic access to services such as the library catalogue and eBooks, and

  • Deliver savings on the existing fees and charges through strong contract negotiation and the consolidation of central and volume purchasing.

The intention is that the panel will have an initial contract period of two (2) years with the option of three (3) one (1) year extensions providing a five (5) year term.
