Description

Council is the owner of the land parcel described and identified in yellow on page 5 of the attached documents.

Portion of this land parcel has been set aside or is currently utilised by Alexandrina Council for Waste Water Treatment purposes or for community lease purposes.

The balance of the land parcel has previously been cropped under a Licence agreement with Council which has expired. The land parcel generally consists of fenced and gated open flat farm land.

Future development of the land is not currently programmed or proposed to occur within the short term (2 - 5 years). Until such time as the land is considered for redevelopment, Council seeks a commercial return from the land by a third party, in exchange for exclusive commercial licensing rights to crop the land for commercial / private purposes in the area identified in black hatch on page 5 of the attached documents.

Grazing of the land is not permitted.

The Licence is offered as an annual agreement commencing 1 April 2019. The remainder of the land parcel will be retained by Council for alternative operational or community purposes.

This licence does not provide access to the remainder of the land, and the remainder of the land excluded from the licence agreement cannot be restricted or denied by this Licence.

The Licensee may improve the land, crop, bale and store bales and associated machinery only, on the land during the term of the Licence. The crop remains the property of the Licensee during the term of the Licence.

To facilitate the licence, Alexandrina Council is seeking an Expression of Interest from interested parties to enter into a commercial licence agreement to undertake cropping activities on the land for a term of up to 3 years, commencing April 2019 (subject to negotiation).

There may be opportunity to negotiate a further renewal term of 2 years on expiry of the initial term, subject to Council consent in line with any proposed redevelopment of the land at that time.
