This work is Stage 1c of the overall upgrade of the St Kilda Playground. It is to improve safety, aesthetics and amenity of the existing St Kilda Playground.

The existing castle is a mainly hardwood timber framed and clad structure, with a static timber decked drawbridge on steel stringers, located on the western side of the recently upgraded open playspace. The intent is to demolish the existing castle structure and trim the existing castle mound down about 1 m to provide an area large enough to accommodate the footprint of the new castle, oriented to face the Volcano, and be accessible from both the new playspace and from the adjoining seawall and Pirate Ship.

Demolition, detail design, earthworks, landscaping, supply, fabrication and erection of the new castle in modified and painted shipping containers with associated play equipment broadly comprises the scope of work under the Contract.

 Mandatory requirements

The following Mandatory requirements must be met for the Tender to be considered:

• ABN and Lagal Entity
• Insurance required by the Contract or the ability to obtain the insurances
• DPTI Building and Construction CAT 4 as a minnimum or equivelant NPS
