Description

The government is seeking proposals from the energy industry for the supply of low carbon electricity (Electricity Supply Proposal) and/or the provision of solutions to increase the value derived from the State’s electricity use (Energy Productivity Proposals) for state sites.

The EOI is seeking proposals from technologies that achieve less than the 400kg carbon dioxide equivalent per megawatt hour of electricity generated. Respondents may provide solutions for multiple sites and aggregate electricity supply sources to achieve the annual supply requirements. The EOI is also seeking proposals for energy productivity, which are proposals which improves the value of electricity for each unit used.  Under the EOI, proponents have the option of submitting an energy productivity proposal separately, or together with an energy generation solution.

Proposals are sought to service up to 481 gigawatt hours of electricity per annum which is equivalent to 100% of the government’s electricity needs.

The government’s objectives for the procurement are to explore innovative and cost effective electricity supply options which can reduce emissions to contribute to the carbon neutral Adelaide commitment and drive economic development in the State. The government will be using the EOI to inform possible alternatives to current arrangements where the government purchases standard grid electricity from a retailer.

An Industry Briefing will be held on Thursday, 26th November 2015. To attend the Industry Briefing please email your details to [email protected] by 25th November 2015.
