Description
SAICORP is the business name for the insurance division of the South Australian Government Financing Authority (SAFA). SAICORP’s primary responsibility is to manage arrangements whereby it provides property, liability and medical malpractice insurance cover to all State Government departments and to all State Government statutory authorities except those specifically exempted by the Treasurer from the arrangements.
SAICORP also manages Building Indemnity Insurance (BII) on behalf of the State following the withdrawal of private insurers from the BII market in 2011.
Part of SAICORP’s Insurance business includes claims management. An independent assessor/loss adjuster is required to inspect and quantify insurance losses, of insured government agencies, on behalf of SAICORP to enable SAICORP to settle these insured agency claims in accordance with the Agency Agreement with the agencies.
