Description

The Commonwealth Government in partnership with State Governments and the Northern Territory Government has made a commitment to invest up to $5.5 billion in new and existing housing in Aboriginal communities.  The National Partnership Remote Indigenous Housing (NPRIH) aims to address overcrowding, homelessness, poor housing conditions and severe housing shortages in remote Aboriginal communities.  Outputs required from the NPRIH include:

• supply of safe and adequate housing;
• robust and standardised tenancy management;
• a program of ongoing repairs and maintenance;
• construction of new houses;
• increased employment opportunities;
• accommodation such as hostels and subsidised rental housing to support access to training, education, employment and support services;
• progressive resolution of land tenure on remote community-titled land, in order to secure government and commercial investment, economic development opportunities and home ownership possibilities;
• upgrade housing and housing related infrastructure in town camps where appropriate; and
• improved data collection through a three yearly Community housing and Infrastructure Needs Survey.

Services required are to be delivered within South Australian remote Aboriginal communities within the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands.
Tenderers are advised they can tender for any or all three work packages. However, given the restrictive timing schedule for the required works, it is likely that tenderers will be awarded a maximum of one work package each, unless they can demonstrate superior value for money, significant aboriginal employment outcomes and extensive organisational capacity to meet tight timeframes.
