The Government of South Australia (State) invites you to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to deliver:

1. Hydrogen Production Facility (Facility);

2. Hydrogen Vehicle Refuelling Station (Refuelling Station); and

3. At least six Hydrogen Fuel Cell Powered Buses (Buses) for a three (3) year trial by the State’s Adelaide Metropolitan Public Transport (Adelaide Metro) fleet.

As the first operating demonstration hydrogen production via electrolysis powered by South Australian renewable energy, the provision of the Facility, Refuelling Station and at least six (6) Buses has been identified as Target 1 of the South Australian Hydrogen Roadmap.

The Facility and Refuelling Station will fuel the Buses, and may also fuel other external customers. The Respondent is expected to identify and negotiate with additional potential hydrogen users to grow market demand for this technology within the State and beyond.

The Respondent may further identify broader economic benefits to the State including but not limited to: the attraction of Head Offices or other related facilities; industry-research partnerships; workforce training and skills development; further decarbonisation of the State’s key transport, energy and industry sectors; and unlocking new export markets to Asia-Pacific trading partners.
